CAD/CAM Car
As a regional education centre for the Bloodhound SSC project we have developed a new project giving students the chance to learn about the Bloodhound project during a research activity run at their home school. This is followed by an optional after school visit to Wilmington Grammar School for Boys were they will have the opportunity to build a CAD/CAM balloon powered car and see the machinery and equipment used in industry manufacturing components of their cars. This will include laser cutters, 3D printers, vacuum formers and vinyl cutters.
The first part of this project is a morning activity open to groups of up to 30 students from years 5 and 6 and must be run in a hall. Students who take part will be given a letter inviting them to take part in the second session at WGSB the following week, there is a small charge for the second sessions if students choose to take part.

Ø This is a free activity aimed at students in year 5 and year 6.
