Balloon Cars
Based on the Primary Engineer and Bloodhound SSC challenge, students are shown how to build and run a balloon car. They then produce their car and test it to see how far it will travel and whether it will travel in a straight line. They collect the data from several test runs with different wheels and alignments and decide which car should be used in the final race. This is a morning activity run in the hall of the primary school and is open to groups of up to 30 students from year 2 or 3.
